Our institute not only performs investigations and evaluations in this specialist field at the highest level of professional competence, but is also qualified to perform external quality controls and take on tasks as head technical expert. The Examination Center is certified according to ISO 9001:2015 and has a QM system according to DIN 17020.

“Remediation Expert” and “Remediation Planner” in terms of the Gesamtverband Schadstoffsanierung GbR (certificate)
(Professional Association for Contaminant Remediation)
After thorough appraisal of the personal qualifications, equipment and references, the association appoints highly qualified companies as remediation experts (investigation and evaluation of hazardous building materials) and/or remediation planners (planning, preparation of bidding documents and supervision of remediation of hazardous materials in buildings).

(German Demolition Association)
The German Demolition Association nominated Dr. Kisskalt as an expert advisor for demolition. He is also a member of the expert committee “Ingenieurbüro” (“consulting engineers”).

Expertise for Asbestos Abatement according to TRGS 519 “Asbestos”
TRGS 519 “Technical rules for hazardous substances – asbestos demolition, reconstruction or maintenance work” regulates the occupational safety and immission control when working with asbestos products. All of our authorized experts have participated in an expertise training course according to Annex 3 of TRGS 519 and successfully completed the exam at the Labor Inspectorate.

Expertise for Work according to TRGS 521 “Old Mineral Wool”
TRGS 521 “Technical rules for hazardous substances – demolition, reconstruction or maintenance work with biopersistent mineral wools” regulates the handling of carcinogenic mineral fiber products. All of our authorized experts have participated in an expertise training course on the contents of TRGS 521.

Contaminated Site Coordinators according to DGUV rule 101-004 (formerly BGR 128) “Contaminated Areas”
All members of our staff have the expertise according to DGUV rule 101-004 (formerly BGR 128) (Occupational Safety Regulations – Contaminated Areas). They may perform remediation work in areas where contaminants occur and professionally plan and supervise such tasks as regards occupational safety, immission control and environmental protection. TRGS 524 (“Technical regulations for hazardous substances, protection measures and work within contaminated areas”) is an update of DGUV rule 101-004. The expertise according to DGUV rule 101-004 includes that covered in TRGS 524.

Working Aid: “Rückbau schadstoffbelasteter Bausubstanz: Erkundung, Planung, Ausführung (2019)”
(“Dismantling of Contaminated Building Materials: Investigation, Planning, Execution”) of the Bavarian Environmental Agency (LfU)
On behalf of the LfU and in cooperation with Dr. Sedat (SVB), we revised the working aid for professional handling of contaminants during the dismantling of buildings from 2003. The working aid encompasses not only the description and evaluation of sampling methods, but above all else also gives detailed information on the types and locations of contaminant-containing building materials. The current version of the working aid also comprises the new themes “Planning”, “Award” and “Execution”.

Mr. Schillinger and Dr. Kisskalt are the authors of a chapter “Investigation and Evaluation for Controlled Dismantling” in this topical reference book on all aspects of building contaminants.
