(Organization for Land Conservation)
On 29 July 2003, the Ministry for the Environment and Interior, together with the municipal umbrella organizations and a further 23 partners launched the Organization for Land Conservation (Bündnis zum Flächensparen). In a joint statement the partners have pledged to make a notable contribution to the reduction in land use. By now, the Organization for Land Conservation has over 50 members.
The main activities of the Bavarian Environmental Agency (LfU) and the partners of the organization is to increase the awareness for land conservation as well as supporting Bavarian municipalities in the implementation of land management.
(Bavarian Environmental Pact)
The Bavarian Environmental Pact (Umweltpakt Bayern) is an agreement between the Bavarian Government and the Bavarian Economy. It is based on voluntary participation, personal responsibility and cooperation. In the Environmental Pact, the Bavarian Government and the Bavarian Economy assert their firm conviction that they can help to enhance the protection of natural resources to a greater extent by voluntary and reliable cooperation than would be the case by laws and regulations alone. The focus is on proactive prevention of future environmental impacts and not on their remediation.
